Two students at Mooresville High School have been suspended following a bullying incident involving two girls and a boy on the school bus
The Iredell County School District said the two girls involved were punished and several students told Eyewitness News they received five days of out-of-school suspension.
Superintendent Mark Edwards said that while bullying cannot be tolerated, 'the encouraging thing to me is that other students were upset about it and reported the incident'.
He told the Mooresville Tribune: 'Bullying is not acceptable. This is not good, but as we know, the vast majority of our students do the right thing every day. On buses, kids push each other, though it's not right.'
