This is very strange. Digitmes has gone on a tangent again with another rumor that just seems plain absurd and impossible. It says that an iPad 4 release date looks to be later this year. iPad 4 will be released by Apple in October this year. As strange as it sounds, it also comes at a time when the iPad 3 itself hasn’t yet seen the light of the day.

The iPad 3 release date is about to happen in a few hours. At 10.00 AM CST, the Cupertino fruit company that we all know as Apple will be unveiling yet another marvel from its stable. The iPad 3 is one of the most awaited gadgets of this year. It is set to come with some awesome display resolutions that beat every other HD display in town and also feature some spectacular performance statistics with the A6 processor, a greater battery life and updated OS.

The iPad 4 rumor is completely baseless but sometimes, just sometimes, Digitimes nails it right. However, amidst talk of iPad Mini, we suspected that iPad 4 was actually the iPad Mini but that has been cleared too. The iPad 4, according to Digitimes, will bebearing the same specs of the iPad 3′s 9.7″ display.

From Apple’s point of view, this looks like an absolute rubbish. Apple usually takes an year or more to come up with upgrades to devices. With iPad 3 itself being released only now, iPad 4 looks far into the future.

From Digitimes:
“The 9.7-inch iPad 4 is expected to come with much upgraded hardwarespecifications and integrated applications so as to compete with an array of Android-, Wintel- or WoA (Windows on ARM)-based tablet PCs to be released in the fourth quarter, said the sources.”

Windows 8 has been released with a perfect aim for tablets and touchscreeninterfaces. Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has also been released and an array of tablets and smartphones are set to appear equipped with the Android 4.0 OS. According to Digitimes, iPad 4 will be released just about the time when the competition gets tougher and that looks like the justification. But Apple will take over all the market with its iPad 3 according to us.
