Apple has announced reduction in the iPad 2 price by 100$ along with the unveiling of its new iPad. Apple has made it known at its new ipad event that iPad 2 price would be dropped to $399 for the 16 GB one with WiFi and for $529 for the 3G model.

Although the iPad 3 comes loaded with a lot of amazing new features like the Retina Display, 4G LTE and updated cameras yet iPad 2 could still be a good choice for those not intending to shell out 499$ for an iPad 3 and instead going for $399 iPad 2. The iPad 2 price drop is said to come into effect soon enough as preorders are reportedly starting today itself.
This price drop would be beneficial in rounding out the Cupertino’s tablet lineup in covering up more market segments. It doesn’t come as a surprise though as it had already been anticipated that Apple had this coming. This could really challengecompetitors with tablets that are vying for the budget-minded market. Besides that it would also help students and other such needy users to get their hands on an iPad that they couldn’t have been able to do previously due to cost.
