With Apple’s media event closing in the Cupertino has added a new App Store category and that’s the “Catalogs”. It has not yet been deployed completely so you can’t get access to it directly right now but its information is available through some apps like Catalogue by TheFind.

The Catalogs category in App Store has a few apps such as the Catalog Spree, MTG Merchant and SkyMall which had been available in the App Store earlier under the Lifestyle and Utility sections but have now been tagged to “Catalogs” category.

According to Joaquin Ruiz who is the CEO of Catalog Spree, Apple wouldn’t take lightly to adding an App category and so this decision taken by the Cupertino shows how important is this use case in the Apple App Store ecosystem.
It’s not often that Apple takes such a step of adding new categories to the App Store and it would really prove to be a lot helpful to now be able to find the apps in one place.
