Adding songs and movies to iTunes can be so very easy!!! All you need to do is to look for a particular folder in the iTunesdirectory and add songs, music or movies automatically as you put in the files in the directory. Another way to do it would be to point downloads to the particular directory so as to sync it to the iTunes directly.

You can find out how to add songs to iTunes as well as how to add movies to iTunes through the following two steps:

  • Go to your home folder ~/iTunes/iTunes Media/ and look for the “Automatically Add to iTunes” folder.
  • Choose the “Automatically Add to iTunes” and click on Command+L to create its pseudonym. Then drag that pseudonym to the desktop or if you want to thedownload’s folder. When you drop anything in downloads folder it is at once imported into iTunes.
If in case you want to point downloads to that aliased folder, you need to open your torrent clients, web browsers, or any other media file source, and then change their respective download directories. You can change the name of the user ~/Downloadsdirectory too and move the aliased “Automatically Add” folder in its place though it wouldn’t be preferred.

Now that your apps are pointed at the folder, you’re media files will go directly to iTunes where everything including functions like copying, clicking, etc becomesautomatic. This is compatible with all the different versions of iTunes and Mac OS X.
