The photos leaked out show an iOS theme of the Microsoft Office for iPad combined with a little bit of Metro as has already been revealed to come with the much awaited Windows 8 tablets. It is also being reported that Microsoft has no plans as yet to release and android version of Office which is obviously not good news for Android tablet owners.
Matt Hickey the author got to go through a “working prototype” of the Microsoft Office iPad app running on an iPad 2 and what he had to say about it is that the user interface features something of the metro language found in the Windows phone and the upcoming Windows 8 OS too. Files like Word, Excel and Powerpoint can be created as well as edited on the device itself or online. Besides that he isn’t sure whether Microsoft is going to support other of its Office apps at the launch or not.
While the form factor seems to have been completed, the Microsoft Office for iPad release date is yet to be revealed. Right now the only information regarding its release is that it may come forth in a couple of weeks. Microsoft’s decision to release Office for iPad is definitely going to prove that Microsoft is bringing its software to other operating systems too.
