It seems Apple doesn’t need to worry about its competitors taking over the Smartphone market because there’s no news regarding an official iPhone 5 release date as yet. Samsung seems to be out of competition as far as smartphone sale is concerned and at the same time Nokia too seems to be striving with job cuts to maintain its position.
The Cupertino guys are sure fussing over the iPhone 5 release date because they’re in a dilemma whether to launch the iPhone 5 this summer following the schedule or let iPhone 4S continue to be in the headlines for a year.
The 4S wasn’t accepted whole heartedly and there were criticisms even before it was launched. However, it succeeded in breaking previously held Apple sales records and account for enormous market share gain in Q4 2011 – most coming at the expense of BlackBerry and Android. While Android after going high with market share in Q3 eventually went down in Q4, BlackBerry has been quite steady in its position.
Apple is quite confident about iPhone 5 features winning over the smartphone market and it not at all seems to be worried enough to hasten on its release. It all depends on Apple’s WWDC in June which might reveal all the important details.
