The Apple TV Envisaged by Steve Jobs
If USA Today’s source is right about the 50-inch iTV prototype, then it’s almost confirmed that Apple TV would be out pretty soon – with mid-2012 being a possible time.
The first news about Apple iTV surfaced when biography of Steve Jobs by Walter Isacsson was being talked about. Steve was reported to have said, “We cracked it!” – and oh well, they did not mean the TV apparently! Steve was talking about a revolutionary way to control the television-viewing process.
Apple TV Release Date
Not to sound too optimistic here, but there are reports that suggest Apple TV launch date could be mid-2012. Considering the iPad 3 release, we’re not so sure of this. An early 2013 release sounds more probable and taking into account factors like rich, enhanced and totally different type of display screens being produced by Sharp for Apple iTV, 2013 would be the more probable date of public release.
The iPad 3, MacBook Pro, iPhone 5 are all gadgets being expected next year. The Apple TV release date is somewhat unclear for now – and we have reasons to believe that the Apple TV launch date wouldn’t even be in the end of 2012. Sharp is gearing up for massive production of screens with ultra-modern technology for the Apple TV. If this be the case, then we know pretty sure that it would quite a long time for the entire assembly and the final Apple TV release.
After iPhone 4S, most of us now think that the revolutionary idea on iTV is incorporating Siri – and it’s more or less confirmed that you will be getting to control your iTV through voice commands via Siri – much like in the iPhone 4S.
Now that sounds very cool indeed – to be able to control your iTV through voice commands. The Apple TV release – after that news about Steve talking about it as his last wonderful project – became instantly the talk of the cyber town.
Apple TV Features & Specs
Meanwhile, Apple TV is supposed to have a ton of features that would totally revolutionize the way we watch television.
To begin with, in all probability, we get to control the iTV via voice commands which technically makes the remote-control – once held as the highest and finest invention – obsolete. No more would you have to press buttons on the remote. But we do not know how Siri is going to manage multiple commands from different people in the house! Apple would have that figured anyway!
The resolution and the display are obviously going to get a massive boost. Unlike all other TVs, Apple TV is sure to have major modifications in its resolution and display methods.
And to top these all, there sure is going to be YouTube, NetFlix, iMovies and other popular integration to the iTV making it a com-Feb-plete system on its own.
Update (08-Feb-2012): Latest report suggests that Apple will use its existing iTunes content on its television set besides partnering with the existing cable service providers. Read more…
