Siri has become so famous among iPhone 4S users that even the older iOS device users are demanding to have it in their iPhones. And the issue is that Siri port is not available for public distribution currently.
There’s great news! The port Siri on iPhone 4 legally denied earlier for other iOS users has now been made possible for them as Apple has provided wide-open access to the previously encrypted system files.
There was a recent tweet from MuscleNerd, prominent name in the jailbreaking community, iOS 5.0.1 update now features decrypted ramdisks. So the users can extract the files that are important for their Siri port without violating Apple’s copyright. This, it said, was the first public 4S ipsw to make main filesystem keys available.
Till now Siri had been illegal for the non 4S hardware and to run it access was required to an iPhone 4S unique identifier which had to be put off in case it would be detected. Apple would find out if many devices called on Siri from one 4S identifier and then that port would be stopped immediately.
With the coming of iOS 5.1, it is possible that Apple may re-encrypt access to the 4S Siri files with the nextupdate. There’s one thing good in all this and that is Apple has finally made it possible to install Siri on iPhone 4legally.
